Approximately 15km inland from the Durban CBD is the ever expanding, commercial hub of Westville. Originating as a farm and named in honour of the first British lieutenant-governor of Natal, Martin West – Westville was established in 1847. Developing from a smallish settlement of German settlers the town soon grew and was proclaimed a municipality in 1956. Previously an independent borough, it now forms part of the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality. Today Westville spans a total area of 30.76 km2 that is found between New Germany, Queensburgh and the Berea. 

One of Westville’s biggest drawing cards is its central location and easy access to neighbouring areas via main arterial routes.  Adding to its ease of access is the host of public transport options – simplifying the commuting process.
